Blind Shelter Dog Finds Freedom Running In Fields Of New Home

It’s hard enough for average adult dogs to get adopted. Many adopters are looking for adorable puppies and dogs that are easy for families.

But five-year-old border collie Jacko had an even greater disadvantage. Jacko is blind, only able to pick out shadows.

Already an older dog, Jacko struggled for over a year to be adopted from Many Tears Animal Rescue.

Because of his limited vision, he needed slow, patient instruction and a large area to run around without being in danger from cars.

This greatly shrunk his adoption pool, and Jacko wasn’t doing well in the shelter. The sounds of the other dogs stressed him out, and his caretakers knew he needed more attention than they could give him.

That’s when Sue found him. Sue saw a TikTok video of Jacko and immediately put in an adoption application. She saw what a loveable, loyal, and amazing dog Jacko was despite his health issues.

Sue also had experience training blind dogs and owned large fields that would be safe for Jacko to play in. They were a perfect match!

Now six years old, Jacko roams free on Sue’s property and loves hanging out with her other dog, Zoom. It’s a perfect ending for such a lovable pup!
